Rare Images of Early American People

The people on these pages are those who were in the vanguard of the founding of the United States. Benjamin Franklin is shown sitting with a sheaf of papers....and with pen in hand about to write a letter, one might imagine, to a friend or associate.

There's Tom Jefferson in the dress of the day. The Jefferson whose skills at writing gave us the Declaration of Independence. John Adams, our second President, books at hand, may be about to pen another letter to his wife Abigail. And Sam Adams, a firebrand of the Revolution, standing with his walking stick.

These are some of the people who were witness to the founding of the republic.

Ben Franklin Was Signer of both the Declaration of Independence & the U.S. Constitution.	Thomas Jefferson. Founding Father and 3rd President of the United States.	Thomas Jefferson. Author of Declaration of Independence, Statesman & Founder of the University of Virginia.
